Chapter 8

                                                Total Verses: 165

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi

(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

وَلَوْ أَنَّنَا نَزَّلْنَا إِلَيْهِمُ الْمَلآئِكَةَ وَكَلَّمَهُمُ الْمَوْتَى وَحَشَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ قُبُلاً مَّا كَانُواْ لِيُؤْمِنُواْ إِلاَّ أَن يَشَاء اللّهُ وَلَـكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ يَجْهَلُونَ

111.        Walaw annana nazzalna ilayhimu almalaikata wakallamahumu almawta wahasharna AAalayhim kulla shayin qubulan ma kanoo liyuminoo illa an yashaa Allahu walakinna aktharahum yajhaloona
If WE have sent down Angels on them and the dead would have spoken to them and WE have gathered all the things of the world before their eyes even then they were not going to bring Faith, unless it would be the Will of Allâh (that they should bring Faith) but most of the people talk nonsense.

وَكَذَلِكَ جَعَلْنَا لِكُلِّ نِبِيٍّ عَدُوًّا شَيَاطِينَ الإِنسِ وَالْجِنِّ يُوحِي بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَى بَعْضٍ زُخْرُفَ الْقَوْلِ غُرُورًا وَلَوْ شَاء رَبُّكَ مَا فَعَلُوهُ فَذَرْهُمْ وَمَا يَفْتَرُونَ

112.        Wakathalika jaAAalna likulli nabiyyin AAaduwwan shayateena alinsi waaljinni yoohee baAAduhum ila baAAdin zukhrufa alqawli ghurooran walaw shaa rabbuka ma faAAaloohu fatharhum wama yaftaroona
And in the same way WE have always made satan human and satan Jinns the enemies of every Prophet, who have been inspiring one another with charming speeches as deception and fraud.  If it would be the Will of your Râbb that they should not do so then they would have never done so?  Therefore you should leave them alone so they keep inventing false allegations.

وَلِتَصْغَى إِلَيْهِ أَفْئِدَةُ الَّذِينَ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالآخِرَةِ وَلِيَرْضَوْهُ وَلِيَقْتَرِفُواْ مَا هُم مُّقْتَرِفُونَ

113.        Walitasgha ilayhi afidatu allatheena la yuminoona bialakhirati waliyardawhu waliyaqtarifoo ma hum muqtarifoona
(WE have been letting them do all this so that) Those people who do not have Faith in the Hereafter their hearts should incline towards (the charming deception) it -- and they become satisfied with it and they earn those evils which they wanted to earn--

أَفَغَيْرَ اللّهِ أَبْتَغِي حَكَمًا وَهُوَ الَّذِي أَنَزَلَ إِلَيْكُمُ الْكِتَابَ مُفَصَّلاً وَالَّذِينَ آتَيْنَاهُمُ الْكِتَابَ يَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهُ مُنَزَّلٌ مِّن رَّبِّكَ بِالْحَقِّ فَلاَ تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْمُمْتَرِينَ

114.        Afaghayra Allahi abtaghee hakaman wahuwa allathee anzala ilaykumu alkitaba mufassalan waallatheena ataynahumu alkitaba yaAAlamoona annahu munazzalun min rabbika bialhaqqi fala takoonanna mina almumtareena
And when the situation is such then shall I seek other judge except Allâh whereas HE has sent down towards you the Book (Al-Qur'ân) with complete details?  And those people whom WE had given the Book (before you) they know that this Book has been revealed from your Râbb with Truth therefore you should not be among those who have doubts.

وَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ صِدْقًا وَعَدْلاً لاَّ مُبَدِّلِ لِكَلِمَاتِهِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

115.        Watammat kalimatu rabbika sidqan waAAadlan la mubaddila likalimatihi wahuwa alssameeAAu alAAaleemu
The word of your Râbb is perfect in regard to Truth and Justice, there is no one who can change HIS Word and HE Hears and Knows everything.

وَإِن تُطِعْ أَكْثَرَ مَن فِي الأَرْضِ يُضِلُّوكَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللّهِ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلاَّ الظَّنَّ وَإِنْ هُمْ إِلاَّ يَخْرُصُونَ

116.        Wain tutiAA akthara man fee alardi yudillooka AAan sabeeli Allahi in yattabiAAoona illa alththanna wain hum illa yakhrusoona
And O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), if you follow the ways of the majority of those people who live on the earth then they will mislead you from the Path of Allâh.  They only follow the assumptions and do nothing but suppositions.

إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ مَن يَضِلُّ عَن سَبِيلِهِ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِالْمُهْتَدِينَ

117.        Inna rabbaka huwa aAAlamu man yadillu AAan sabeelihi wahuwa aAAlamu bialmuhtadeena
In fact your Râbb Knows better that who is away from HIS Path and who is on the Right Path.

فَكُلُواْ مِمَّا ذُكِرَ اسْمُ اللّهِ عَلَيْهِ إِن كُنتُمْ بِآيَاتِهِ مُؤْمِنِينَ

118.        Fakuloo mimma thukira ismu Allahi AAalayhi in kuntum biayatihi mumineena
Then if you people have Faith in the Revelation (Ayât) of Allâh then eat the meat of that animal over which the Name of Allâh has been pronounced.

وَمَا لَكُمْ أَلاَّ تَأْكُلُواْ مِمَّا ذُكِرَ اسْمُ اللّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَقَدْ فَصَّلَ لَكُم مَّا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ إِلاَّ مَا اضْطُرِرْتُمْ إِلَيْهِ وَإِنَّ كَثِيرًا لَّيُضِلُّونَ بِأَهْوَائِهِم بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِالْمُعْتَدِينَ

119.        Wama lakum alla takuloo mimma thukira ismu Allahi AAalayhi waqad fassala lakum ma harrama AAalaykum illa ma idturirtum ilayhi wainna katheeran layudilloona biahwaihim bighayri AAilmin inna rabbaka huwa aAAlamu bialmuAAtadeena
After all what is the reason that you do not eat that thing over which the Name of Allâh has been pronounced?  Whereas Allâh has already given you the details of those things, which HE has forbidden for you in all situations -- except under compulsion of necessity (helplessness).  This is the condition of the majority of the people that they say misleading things without any knowledge just on the basis of their own desires -- your Râbb knows very well these transgressors.

وَذَرُواْ ظَاهِرَ الإِثْمِ وَبَاطِنَهُ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَكْسِبُونَ الإِثْمَ سَيُجْزَوْنَ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَقْتَرِفُونَ

120.        Watharoo thahira alithmi wabatinahu inna allatheena yaksiboona alithma sayujzawna bima kanoo yaqtarifoona
You should abstain from open sins as well as from the hidden sins, those people who earn sins they will surely get due recompense for their earnings.

وَلاَ تَأْكُلُواْ مِمَّا لَمْ يُذْكَرِ اسْمُ اللّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَإِنَّهُ لَفِسْقٌ وَإِنَّ الشَّيَاطِينَ لَيُوحُونَ إِلَى أَوْلِيَآئِهِمْ لِيُجَادِلُوكُمْ وَإِنْ أَطَعْتُمُوهُمْ إِنَّكُمْ لَمُشْرِكُونَ

121.        Wala takuloo mimma lam yuthkari ismu Allahi AAalayhi wainnahu lafisqun wainna alshshayateena layoohoona ila awliyaihim liyujadilookum wain ataAAtumoohum innakum lamushrikoona
And the animal, which has been slaughtered without mentioning the Name of Allâh do not eat its meat -- to do so is sinful (Fisq).  The Satans (Shayâtin) inculcate doubts and objections in the hearts of their companions so that they dispute with you.  But if you obeyed them then surely you are the idolater (Mushrikûn). (R) 1

أَوَ مَن كَانَ مَيْتًا فَأَحْيَيْنَاهُ وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُ نُورًا يَمْشِي بِهِ فِي النَّاسِ كَمَن مَّثَلُهُ فِي الظُّلُمَاتِ لَيْسَ بِخَارِجٍ مِّنْهَا كَذَلِكَ زُيِّنَ لِلْكَافِرِينَ مَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ

122.        Awa man kana maytan faahyaynahu wajaAAalna lahu nooran yamshee bihi fee alnnasi kaman mathaluhu fee alththulumati laysa bikharijin minha kathalika zuyyina lilkafireena ma kanoo yaAAmaloona
Is the person who was first dead then WE gave him life and granted him that light in the brightness of which he lives his life among the people can be like that person who is in the darkness and cannot come out of it in any way?  In the same way the deeds of infidels (Kafir) have been made pleasing for them,

وَكَذَلِكَ جَعَلْنَا فِي كُلِّ قَرْيَةٍ أَكَابِرَ مُجَرِمِيهَا لِيَمْكُرُواْ فِيهَا وَمَا يَمْكُرُونَ إِلاَّ بِأَنفُسِهِمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ

123.        Wakathalika jaAAalna fee kulli qaryatin akabira mujrimeeha liyamkuroo feeha wama yamkuroona illa bianfusihim wama yashAAuroona
And the same way WE have placed the chief criminals in every town to spread the trap of their evil plans.  In fact they themselves are trapped in their evil plans, but they do not have sense of it.

وَإِذَا جَاءتْهُمْ آيَةٌ قَالُواْ لَن نُّؤْمِنَ حَتَّى نُؤْتَى مِثْلَ مَا أُوتِيَ رُسُلُ اللّهِ اللّهُ أَعْلَمُ حَيْثُ يَجْعَلُ رِسَالَتَهُ سَيُصِيبُ الَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُواْ صَغَارٌ عِندَ اللّهِ وَعَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَمْكُرُونَ

124.        Waitha jaathum ayatun qaloo lan numina hatta nuta mithla ma ootiya rusulu Allahi Allahu aAAlamu haythu yajAAalu risalatahu sayuseebu allatheena ajramoo sagharun AAinda Allahi waAAathabun shadeedun bima kanoo yamkuroona
When any Revelation (Ayât) comes before them, they say: "We shall not believe until we are given that thing which has been given to the Rasools of Allâh."  Allâh knows best that from whom HE should get the work of HIS Prophethood and how to get it.  That time is near when these criminals will suffer the punishment of humiliation and disgrace from Allâh for their deceitful actions.

فَمَن يُرِدِ اللّهُ أَن يَهْدِيَهُ يَشْرَحْ صَدْرَهُ لِلإِسْلاَمِ وَمَن يُرِدْ أَن يُضِلَّهُ يَجْعَلْ صَدْرَهُ ضَيِّقًا حَرَجًا كَأَنَّمَا يَصَّعَّدُ فِي السَّمَاء كَذَلِكَ يَجْعَلُ اللّهُ الرِّجْسَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ

125.        Faman yuridi Allahu an yahdiyahu yashrah sadrahu lilislami waman yurid an yudillahu yajAAal sadrahu dayyiqan harajan kaannama yassaAAAAadu fee alssamai kathalika yajAAalu Allahu alrrijsa AAala allatheena la yuminoona
Therefore, (it is fact that) whomever Allâh Wants to give guidance (HE) opens his/her heart for Islâm and whomever (HE) wants to send astray (HE) makes his/her chest narrow and compresses in such a way that he/she feels as if his/her soul is climbing towards sky (just by thinking of Islâm).  In this way Allâh let the impurity (of hatred and escape from truth) conquer them who do not bring Faith,

وَهَـذَا صِرَاطُ رَبِّكَ مُسْتَقِيمًا قَدْ فَصَّلْنَا الآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَذَّكَّرُونَ

126.        Wahatha siratu rabbika mustaqeeman qad fassalna alayati liqawmin yaththakkaroona
Whereas this Path is the Straight Path of your Râbb and the Signs of this Path have been made clear for those people who accept the advice.

لَهُمْ دَارُ السَّلاَمِ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ وَهُوَ وَلِيُّهُمْ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ

127.        Lahum daru alssalami AAinda rabbihim wahuwa waliyyuhum bima kanoo yaAAmaloona
There is a home of peace for them with their Râbb and HE is their Guardian (Walî) because of the right way of life that they adopted.

وَيَوْمَ يِحْشُرُهُمْ جَمِيعًا يَا مَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ قَدِ اسْتَكْثَرْتُم مِّنَ الإِنسِ وَقَالَ أَوْلِيَآؤُهُم مِّنَ الإِنسِ رَبَّنَا اسْتَمْتَعَ بَعْضُنَا بِبَعْضٍ وَبَلَغْنَا أَجَلَنَا الَّذِيَ أَجَّلْتَ لَنَا قَالَ النَّارُ مَثْوَاكُمْ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا إِلاَّ مَا شَاء اللّهُ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ حَكِيمٌ عَليمٌ

128.        Wayawma yahshuruhum jameeAAan ya maAAshara aljinni qadi istakthartum mina alinsi waqala awliyaohum mina alinsi rabbana istamtaAAa baAAduna bibaAAdin wabalaghna ajalana allathee ajjalta lana qala alnnaru mathwakum khalideena feeha illa ma shaa Allahu inna rabbaka hakeemun AAaleemun
The Day when Allâh will gather all these people together, that Day HE will address to the Jinns (Satan Jinns) and will say: "O assembly of Jinns, you have fully taken advantage over mankind."  Among the mankind those who were their companions they will submit: "O Râbb, every one of us has used each other very well, and now we have reached to the time which YOU had appointed for us."  Allâh will say: "Well now the Fire is your destination, you will remain in it forever."  Only those will be saved from it whom Allâh will want to save.   No doubt your Râbb is Wise and Knowledgeable.

وَكَذَلِكَ نُوَلِّي بَعْضَ الظَّالِمِينَ بَعْضًا بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكْسِبُونَ

129.         Wakathalika nuwallee baAAda alththalimeena baAAdan bima kanoo yaksiboona
Look, in this way WE will make cruels (Zâlimûn) the companions (Auliyâ') of one another (in the Hereafter) because of that earning which they (in the world with shared/mutual cooperation) used to earn. (R) 2

يَا مَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ وَالإِنسِ أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ رُسُلٌ مِّنكُمْ يَقُصُّونَ عَلَيْكُمْ آيَاتِي وَيُنذِرُونَكُمْ لِقَاء يَوْمِكُمْ هَـذَا قَالُواْ شَهِدْنَا عَلَى أَنفُسِنَا وَغَرَّتْهُمُ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا وَشَهِدُواْ عَلَى أَنفُسِهِمْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُواْ كَافِرِينَ

130.        Ya maAAshara aljinni waalinsi alam yatikum rusulun minkum yaqussoona AAalaykum ayatee wayunthiroonakum liqaa yawmikum hatha qaloo shahidna AAala anfusina wagharrathumu alhayatu alddunya washahidoo AAala anfusihim annahum kanoo kafireena
(On that occasion Allâh will also ask from them that) "O assembly of Jinns and mankind, did such Rasools not come to you from among yourselves who recited MY Revelation to you and warned you of the meeting of this Day?"  They will say: "Yes, we bear witness against ourselves."  Today this worldly life is keeping these people in deception, but at that time they themselves will testify against their own souls that they were infidels (Kafir).

ذَلِكَ أَن لَّمْ يَكُن رَّبُّكَ مُهْلِكَ الْقُرَى بِظُلْمٍ وَأَهْلُهَا غَافِلُونَ

131.        Thalika an lam yakun rabbuka muhlika alqura bithulmin waahluha ghafiloona
(This testimony will be taken from them in order to prove that) Your Râbb was not to destroy the towns with cruelty while their inhabitants are unaware of the truth (fact).

وَلِكُلٍّ دَرَجَاتٌ مِّمَّا عَمِلُواْ وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ

132.        Walikullin darajatun mimma AAamiloo wama rabbuka bighafilin AAamma yaAAmaloona
The rank of everyone is according to his/her deeds and your Râbb is not unaware of the deeds of the people.

وَرَبُّكَ الْغَنِيُّ ذُو الرَّحْمَةِ إِن يَشَأْ يُذْهِبْكُمْ وَيَسْتَخْلِفْ مِن بَعْدِكُم مَّا يَشَاء كَمَآ أَنشَأَكُم مِّن ذُرِّيَّةِ قَوْمٍ آخَرِينَ

133.        Warabbuka alghaniyyu thoo alrrahmati in yasha yuthhibkum wayastakhlif min baAAdikum ma yashao kama anshaakum min thurriyyati qawmin akhareena
Your Râbb is without any need and to be Merciful is HIS Attribute.  If HE Wants HE can remove you and at your place bring other people whom HE Wants as HE has raised you from the generation of other people.

إِنَّ مَا تُوعَدُونَ لآتٍ وَمَا أَنتُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ

134.         Inna ma tooAAadoona laatin wama antum bimuAAjizeena
What is being promised to you that are surely going to come and you do not have the power to weaken Allâh.

قُلْ يَا قَوْمِ اعْمَلُواْ عَلَى مَكَانَتِكُمْ إِنِّي عَامِلٌ فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ مَن تَكُونُ لَهُ عَاقِبَةُ الدِّارِ إِنَّهُ لاَ يُفْلِحُ الظَّالِمُونَ

135.        Qul ya qawmi iAAmaloo AAala makanatikum innee AAamilun fasawfa taAAlamoona man takoonu lahu AAaqibatu alddari innahu la yuflihu alththalimoona
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), Say O people: "You keep doing according to your own way and I am also doing according to my belief, soon you will come to know that which of us will have favorable end, after all, this is a fact that the cruel can never benefit"

وَجَعَلُواْ لِلّهِ مِمِّا ذَرَأَ مِنَ الْحَرْثِ وَالأَنْعَامِ نَصِيبًا فَقَالُواْ هَـذَا لِلّهِ بِزَعْمِهِمْ وَهَـذَا لِشُرَكَآئِنَا فَمَا كَانَ لِشُرَكَآئِهِمْ فَلاَ يَصِلُ إِلَى اللّهِ وَمَا كَانَ لِلّهِ فَهُوَ يَصِلُ إِلَى شُرَكَآئِهِمْ سَاء مَا يَحْكُمُونَ

136.         WajaAAaloo lillahi mimma tharaa mina alharthi waalanAAami naseeban faqaloo hatha lillahi bizaAAmihim wahatha lishurakaina fama kana lishurakaihim fala yasilu ila Allahi wama kana lillahi fahuwa yasilu ila shurakaihim saa ma yahkumoona
These people themselves have assigned a share for Allâh from farming and cattle that HE has Created and they say this is for Allâh assumed themselves, and this is for our taken partners (the partners they have associated with Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala).  Then the assigned share of their taken partners does not reach to Allâh but the assigned share of Allâh does reach to their taken partners.  How bad decisions these people make!

وَكَذَلِكَ زَيَّنَ لِكَثِيرٍ مِّنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ قَتْلَ أَوْلاَدِهِمْ شُرَكَآؤُهُمْ لِيُرْدُوهُمْ وَلِيَلْبِسُواْ عَلَيْهِمْ دِينَهُمْ وَلَوْ شَاء اللّهُ مَا فَعَلُوهُ فَذَرْهُمْ وَمَا يَفْتَرُونَ

137.         Wakathalika zayyana likatheerin mina almushrikeena qatla awladihim shurakaohum liyurdoohum waliyalbisoo AAalayhim deenahum walaw shaa Allahu ma faAAaloohu fatharhum wama yaftaroona
And in the same way for many idolaters (Mushrikûn) their taken partners have made the killing of their own children a pleasant thing so that (they) could put them in destruction and make their Deen doubtful for them.  If Allâh Wanted they would not have done so, therefore leave them so that they remain in their fabrications.

وَقَالُواْ هَـذِهِ أَنْعَامٌ وَحَرْثٌ حِجْرٌ لاَّ يَطْعَمُهَا إِلاَّ مَن نّشَاء بِزَعْمِهِمْ وَأَنْعَامٌ حُرِّمَتْ ظُهُورُهَا وَأَنْعَامٌ لاَّ يَذْكُرُونَ اسْمَ اللّهِ عَلَيْهَا افْتِرَاء عَلَيْهِ سَيَجْزِيهِم بِمَا كَانُواْ يَفْتَرُونَ

138.         Waqaloo hathihi anAAamun waharthun hijrun la yatAAamuha illa man nashao bizaAAmihim waanAAamun hurrimat thuhooruha waanAAamun la yathkuroona isma Allahi AAalayha iftiraan AAalayhi sayajzeehim bima kanoo yaftaroona
They say that these cattle and these crops are saved (forbidden); only those people can eat from them whom we want to feed, whereas this is their self-imposed restriction.  Then there are some animals that have been forbidden for riding and carrying loads and there are some animals on which they do not pronounce the Name of Allâh and all that they have fabricated against Allâh -- soon Allâh will recompense them for their fabrications.

وَقَالُواْ مَا فِي بُطُونِ هَـذِهِ الأَنْعَامِ خَالِصَةٌ لِّذُكُورِنَا وَمُحَرَّمٌ عَلَى أَزْوَاجِنَا وَإِن يَكُن مَّيْتَةً فَهُمْ فِيهِ شُرَكَاء سَيَجْزِيهِمْ وَصْفَهُمْ إِنَّهُ حِكِيمٌ عَلِيمٌ

139.        Waqaloo ma fee butooni hathihi alanAAami khalisatun lithukoorina wamuharramun AAala azwajina wain yakun maytatan fahum feehi shurakao sayajzeehim wasfahum innahu hakeemun AAaleemun
And they say that whatever is in the bellies of these animals that is reserved for our males and forbidden to our females, but if it is (born) dead then both can join in eating it.  Allâh will surely recompense them for those things, which they have invented.  Certainly HE is Wise and has the Knowledge of everything.

قَدْ خَسِرَ الَّذِينَ قَتَلُواْ أَوْلاَدَهُمْ سَفَهًا بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَحَرَّمُواْ مَا رَزَقَهُمُ اللّهُ افْتِرَاء عَلَى اللّهِ قَدْ ضَلُّواْ وَمَا كَانُواْ مُهْتَدِينَ

140.        Qad khasira allatheena qataloo awladahum safahan bighayri AAilmin waharramoo ma razaqahumu Allahu iftiraan AAala Allahi qad dalloo wama kanoo muhtadeena
Surely those people are in loss who killed their own children because of stupidity and ignorance and made the provisions given by Allâh unlawful -- by inventing a lie against Allâh.  Certainly they have gone astray and they were not at all among those who were rightly guided. (R) 3

وَهُوَ الَّذِي أَنشَأَ جَنَّاتٍ مَّعْرُوشَاتٍ وَغَيْرَ مَعْرُوشَاتٍ وَالنَّخْلَ وَالزَّرْعَ مُخْتَلِفًا أُكُلُهُ وَالزَّيْتُونَ وَالرُّمَّانَ مُتَشَابِهًا وَغَيْرَ مُتَشَابِهٍ كُلُواْ مِن ثَمَرِهِ إِذَا أَثْمَرَ وَآتُواْ حَقَّهُ يَوْمَ حَصَادِهِ وَلاَ تُسْرِفُواْ إِنَّهُ لاَ يُحِبُّ الْمُسْرِفِينَ

141.        Wahuwa allathee anshaa jannatin maAArooshatin waghayra maAArooshatin waalnnakhla waalzzarAAa mukhtalifan okuluhu waalzzaytoona waalrrummana mutashabihan waghayra mutashabihin kuloo min thamarihi itha athmara waatoo haqqahu yawma hasadihi wala tusrifoo innahu la yuhibbu almusrifeena
HE is Allâh WHO has created different kinds of gardens and vineyards and date-palm trees, made the field crops to grow which yield different kinds of edibles, produced the trees of olives and pomegranates whose fruits are similar in resemblance and different in taste.  Eat their produce when they bring fruits -- and when you cut their crops pay the due share of Allâh and do not cross the limits as Allâh does not like those who cross the limits (Al-Musrifûn).

وَمِنَ الأَنْعَامِ حَمُولَةً وَفَرْشًا كُلُواْ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ اللّهُ وَلاَ تَتَّبِعُواْ خُطُوَاتِ الشَّيْطَانِ إِنَّهُ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ مُّبِينٌ

142.        Wamina alanAAami hamoolatan wafarshan kuloo mimma razaqakumu Allahu wala tattabiAAoo khutuwati alshshaytani innahu lakum AAaduwwun mubeenun
Then HE is the One WHO has also created from among the cattle those animals that are used for riding and hauling and also those which are used for eating and spreading (skin used in making beds etc.).  Eat of those things that Allâh has provided for you and do not follow the Satan that he is your open enemy.

ثَمَانِيَةَ أَزْوَاجٍ مِّنَ الضَّأْنِ اثْنَيْنِ وَمِنَ الْمَعْزِ اثْنَيْنِ قُلْ آلذَّكَرَيْنِ حَرَّمَ أَمِ الأُنثَيَيْنِ أَمَّا اشْتَمَلَتْ عَلَيْهِ أَرْحَامُ الأُنثَيَيْنِ نَبِّؤُونِي بِعِلْمٍ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ

143.        Thamaniyata azwajin mina alddani ithnayni wamina almaAAzi ithnayni qul alththakarayni harrama ami alonthayayni amma ishtamalat AAalayhi arhamu alonthayayni nabbioonee biAAilmin in kuntum sadiqeena
These are eight males and females, two (a pair) from type of sheep and two (a pair) from goat type. O Prophet, (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) ask them that has Allâh made their males or females unlawful, or those children that are in the wombs of sheep and goats?  Give me correct answer with true knowledge if you are truthful.

وَمِنَ الإِبْلِ اثْنَيْنِ وَمِنَ الْبَقَرِ اثْنَيْنِ قُلْ آلذَّكَرَيْنِ حَرَّمَ أَمِ الأُنثَيَيْنِ أَمَّا اشْتَمَلَتْ عَلَيْهِ أَرْحَامُ الأُنثَيَيْنِ أَمْ كُنتُمْ شُهَدَاء إِذْ وَصَّاكُمُ اللّهُ بِهَـذَا فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ افْتَرَى عَلَى اللّهِ كَذِبًا لِيُضِلَّ النَّاسَ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ إِنَّ اللّهَ لاَ يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ

144.        Wamina alibili ithnayni wamina albaqari ithnayni qul alththakarayni harrama ami alonthayayni amma ishtamalat AAalayhi arhamu alonthayayni am kuntum shuhadaa ith wassakumu Allahu bihatha faman athlamu mimmani iftara AAala Allahi kathiban liyudilla alnnasa bighayri AAilmin inna Allaha la yahdee alqawma alththalimeena
And in the same way two are (a pair) from the type of camel and two (a pair) from the kind of cow (oxen).  Ask, has Allâh made their males or females unlawful or the children those are in the bellies of these camels or cows?  Were you present at that time when Allâh had commanded you for these to be unlawful?  Then who else could be crueler then the one who invents lie against Allâh -- so that to mislead the people without any knowledge.  Surely Allâh does not guide such cruel people (Zâlimûn) to the Straight Path. (R) 4

قُل لاَّ أَجِدُ فِي مَا أُوْحِيَ إِلَيَّ مُحَرَّمًا عَلَى طَاعِمٍ يَطْعَمُهُ إِلاَّ أَن يَكُونَ مَيْتَةً أَوْ دَمًا مَّسْفُوحًا أَوْ لَحْمَ خِنزِيرٍ فَإِنَّهُ رِجْسٌ أَوْ فِسْقًا أُهِلَّ لِغَيْرِ اللّهِ بِهِ فَمَنِ اضْطُرَّ غَيْرَ بَاغٍ وَلاَ عَادٍ فَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

145.        Qul la ajidu feema oohiya ilayya muharraman AAala taAAimin yatAAamuhu illa an yakoona maytatan aw daman masfoohan aw lahma khinzeerin fainnahu rijsun aw fisqan ohilla lighayri Allahi bihi famani idturra ghayra baghin wala AAadin fainna rabbaka ghafoorun raheemun
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) tell them that the revelation which has come to me in that I do not find any such thing which have been forbidden for the eater (consumer), except that it be dead animal (Maytatah), or the drained blood, or the flesh of swine (pork) that it is impure, or is sinful (unlawful) that it has been slaughtered at the name of someone else except Allâh.  Then whoever in the state of helplessness (eats anything from these) without that he/she has the intention of disobedience, and without this that he/she crosses the limits of that necessity, then certainly your Râbb is Oft Forgiving and Most Merciful.

وَعَلَى الَّذِينَ هَادُواْ حَرَّمْنَا كُلَّ ذِي ظُفُرٍ وَمِنَ الْبَقَرِ وَالْغَنَمِ حَرَّمْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ شُحُومَهُمَا إِلاَّ مَا حَمَلَتْ ظُهُورُهُمَا أَوِ الْحَوَايَا أَوْ مَا اخْتَلَطَ بِعَظْمٍ ذَلِكَ جَزَيْنَاهُم بِبَغْيِهِمْ وِإِنَّا لَصَادِقُونَ

146.        WaAAala allatheena hadoo harramna kulla thee thufurin wamina albaqari waalghanami harramna AAalayhim shuhoomahuma illa ma hamalat thuhooruhuma awi alhawaya aw ma ikhtalata biAAathmin thalika jazaynahum bibaghyihim wainna lasadiqoona
And for those people who adopted the Judaism WE had forbidden all the animals with nails (undivided hoof) and as well as the fat of goat and cow except that which is attached to their backs or to their guts, or which remains with bone.  This was the punishment WE had given them for their rebellion -- and whatever WE are conveying, is all Truth.

فَإِن كَذَّبُوكَ فَقُل رَّبُّكُمْ ذُو رَحْمَةٍ وَاسِعَةٍ وَلاَ يُرَدُّ بَأْسُهُ عَنِ الْقَوْمِ الْمُجْرِمِينَ

147.        Fain kaththabooka faqul rabbukum thoo rahmatin wasiAAatin wala yuraddu basuhu AAani alqawmi almujrimeena
Now if they deny you (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) then tell them that the Mercy of your Râbb is Vast and HIS Punishment cannot be reverted from the criminals (Mujrimûn).

سَيَقُولُ الَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُواْ لَوْ شَاء اللّهُ مَا أَشْرَكْنَا وَلاَ آبَاؤُنَا وَلاَ حَرَّمْنَا مِن شَيْءٍ كَذَلِكَ كَذَّبَ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِم حَتَّى ذَاقُواْ بَأْسَنَا قُلْ هَلْ عِندَكُم مِّنْ عِلْمٍ فَتُخْرِجُوهُ لَنَا إِن تَتَّبِعُونَ إِلاَّ الظَّنَّ وَإِنْ أَنتُمْ إَلاَّ تَخْرُصُونَ

148.        Sayaqoolu allatheena ashrakoo law shaa Allahu ma ashrakna wala abaona wala harramna min shayin kathalika kaththaba allatheena min qablihim hatta thaqoo basana qul hal AAindakum min AAilmin fatukhrijoohu lana in tattabiAAoona illa alththanna wain antum illa takhrusoona
These idolaters (in response to your these things) will definitely say: "If Allâh Wanted then neither we nor our forefathers would have committed Shirk (associated partners with Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala), and nor we have made anything unlawful."  The people before them had also denied the Truth by saying the same kinds of things until they tasted OUR Punishment.  Tell them: "Do you have any knowledge that you can present before us?  You are merely following suppositions and just making speculations."

قُلْ فَلِلّهِ الْحُجَّةُ الْبَالِغَةُ فَلَوْ شَاء لَهَدَاكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

149.        Qul falillahi alhujjatu albalighatu falaw shaa lahadakum ajmaAAeena
Again tell them (in response to your this argument): "The real argument is with Allâh no doubt if Allâh Wanted, HE would have given guidance to all of you."

قُلْ هَلُمَّ شُهَدَاءكُمُ الَّذِينَ يَشْهَدُونَ أَنَّ اللّهَ حَرَّمَ هَـذَا فَإِن شَهِدُواْ فَلاَ تَشْهَدْ مَعَهُمْ وَلاَ تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَاء الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ بِآيَاتِنَا وَالَّذِينَ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالآخِرَةِ وَهُم بِرَبِّهِمْ يَعْدِلُونَ

150.        Qul halumma shuhadaakumu allatheena yashhadoona anna Allaha harrama hatha fain shahidoo fala tashhad maAAahum wala tattabiAA ahwaa allatheena kaththaboo biayatina waallatheena la yuminoona bialakhirati wahum birabbihim yaAAdiloona
Ask them: "Bring your those witnesses who can testify for this thing that Allâh has made these things unlawful."  Then if they bear witness then you should not bear witness with them, and should never follow the desires of those people who have denied OUR Revelation (Ayât), and those who are the deniers of Hereafter and those who take others as equal to their Râbb." (R) 5

قُلْ تَعَالَوْاْ أَتْلُ مَا حَرَّمَ رَبُّكُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ أَلاَّ تُشْرِكُواْ بِهِ شَيْئًا وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَانًا وَلاَ تَقْتُلُواْ أَوْلاَدَكُم مِّنْ إمْلاَقٍ نَّحْنُ نَرْزُقُكُمْ وَإِيَّاهُمْ وَلاَ تَقْرَبُواْ الْفَوَاحِشَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَ وَلاَ تَقْتُلُواْ النَّفْسَ الَّتِي حَرَّمَ اللّهُ إِلاَّ بِالْحَقِّ ذَلِكُمْ وَصَّاكُمْ بِهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ

151.        Qul taAAalaw atlu ma harrama rabbukum AAalaykum alla tushrikoo bihi shayan wabialwalidayni ihsanan wala taqtuloo awladakum min imlaqin nahnu narzuqukum waiyyahum wala taqraboo alfawahisha ma thahara minha wama batana wala taqtuloo alnnafsa allatee harrama Allahu illa bialhaqqi thalikum wassakum bihi laAAallakum taAAqiloona
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) ask them: “Come I should recite to you that what limits your Râbb has imposed on you”-- that do not associate any partner with HIM.  And treat your parents well, and do not kill your children for fear of poverty, WE give you the provisions and will also give them, and do not even go near to the shameful things (Al-Fawâhish) either those are open or hidden, and do not kill any soul whom Allâh has forbidden except for a just cause (according to Islâmic law). These are the limits of which HE has advised you; perhaps you may use your common sense.

وَلاَ تَقْرَبُواْ مَالَ الْيَتِيمِ إِلاَّ بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ حَتَّى يَبْلُغَ أَشُدَّهُ وَأَوْفُواْ الْكَيْلَ وَالْمِيزَانَ بِالْقِسْطِ لاَ نُكَلِّفُ نَفْسًا إِلاَّ وُسْعَهَا وَإِذَا قُلْتُمْ فَاعْدِلُواْ وَلَوْ كَانَ ذَا قُرْبَى وَبِعَهْدِ اللّهِ أَوْفُواْ ذَلِكُمْ وَصَّاكُم بِهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ

152.        Wala taqraboo mala alyateemi illa biallatee hiya ahsanu hatta yablugha ashuddahu waawfoo alkayla waalmeezana bialqisti la nukallifu nafsan illa wusAAaha waitha qultum faiAAdiloo walaw kana tha qurba wabiAAahdi Allahi awfoo thalikum wassakum bihi laAAallakum tathakkaroona
And that do not go near to the property of orphan but only in a way that is best, until he/she reaches to the age of adulthood.  And do justice in measurements and weighing, WE only put that much burden of responsibilities on every person, which he/she can bear.  And when you say anything say it with justice even if it is a matter of your close relatives.  And fulfill the Covenant of Allâh.  Allâh has advised you for these things perhaps you may embrace the advice.

وَأَنَّ هَـذَا صِرَاطِي مُسْتَقِيمًا فَاتَّبِعُوهُ وَلاَ تَتَّبِعُواْ السُّبُلَ فَتَفَرَّقَ بِكُمْ عَن سَبِيلِهِ ذَلِكُمْ وَصَّاكُم بِهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ

153.        Waanna hatha siratee mustaqeeman faittabiAAoohu wala tattabiAAoo alssubula fatafarraqa bikum AAan sabeelihi thalikum wassakum bihi laAAallakum tattaqoona
In addition, HIS advice is that this is MY Straight Path therefore you should follow it and do not follow other paths as those will impure you by separating from HIS Path.  This is the Guidance, which your Râbb has given you; perhaps you may avoid crooked way.

ثُمَّ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى الْكِتَابَ تَمَامًا عَلَى الَّذِيَ أَحْسَنَ وَتَفْصِيلاً لِّكُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لَّعَلَّهُم بِلِقَاء رَبِّهِمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ

154.        Thumma atayna moosa alkitaba tamaman AAala allathee ahsana watafseelan likulli shayin wahudan warahmatan laAAallahum biliqai rabbihim yuminoona
Then WE had given a Book to Mûsa which was completion of the blessing for those people who adopted the righteous path and (it) had detail of every necessary thing and complete guidance and blessing (and it was given to the children of Israel for the reason that) perhaps those people might bring Faith in meeting with their Râbb. (R) 6

وَهَـذَا كِتَابٌ أَنزَلْنَاهُ مُبَارَكٌ فَاتَّبِعُوهُ وَاتَّقُواْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ

155.        Wahatha kitabun anzalnahu mubarakun faittabiAAoohu waittaqoo laAAallakum turhamoona
And in the same way WE have revealed this Book (Al-Qur'ân), as a Book of blessings.  Therefore you should follow it and adopt the way of piety; it may be that you receive mercy.

أَن تَقُولُواْ إِنَّمَا أُنزِلَ الْكِتَابُ عَلَى طَآئِفَتَيْنِ مِن قَبْلِنَا وَإِن كُنَّا عَن دِرَاسَتِهِمْ لَغَافِلِينَ

156.        An taqooloo innama onzila alkitabu AAala taifatayni min qablina wain kunna AAan dirasatihim laghafileena
Now you cannot say that the Book was given to the two groups before us, and we were unaware of that what they used to read and teach.

أَوْ تَقُولُواْ لَوْ أَنَّا أُنزِلَ عَلَيْنَا الْكِتَابُ لَكُنَّا أَهْدَى مِنْهُمْ فَقَدْ جَاءكُم بَيِّنَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّن كَذَّبَ بِآيَاتِ اللّهِ وَصَدَفَ عَنْهَا سَنَجْزِي الَّذِينَ يَصْدِفُونَ عَنْ آيَاتِنَا سُوءَ الْعَذَابِ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَصْدِفُونَ

157.        Aw taqooloo law anna onzila AAalayna alkitabu lakunna ahda minhum faqad jaakum bayyinatun min rabbikum wahudan warahmatun faman athlamu mimman kaththaba biayati Allahi wasadafa AAanha sanajzee allatheena yasdifoona AAan ayatina sooa alAAathabi bima kanoo yasdifoona
And now you cannot also make this excuse that if the Book had been revealed to us then we would have proved more righteous than they would.  A clear proof and guidance and blessing has come to you from your Râbb, now who would be more crueler than the one who rejects the Revelation (Ayât) of Allâh and turns away from it.  Those people who turn away from OUR Revelation in recompense of their aversion WE will surely give them severe punishment.

هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلاَّ أَن تَأْتِيهُمُ الْمَلآئِكَةُ أَوْ يَأْتِيَ رَبُّكَ أَوْ يَأْتِيَ بَعْضُ آيَاتِ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَ يَأْتِي بَعْضُ آيَاتِ رَبِّكَ لاَ يَنفَعُ نَفْسًا إِيمَانُهَا لَمْ تَكُنْ آمَنَتْ مِن قَبْلُ أَوْ كَسَبَتْ فِي إِيمَانِهَا خَيْرًا قُلِ انتَظِرُواْ إِنَّا مُنتَظِرُونَ

158.        Hal yanthuroona illa an tatiyahumu almalaikatu aw yatiya rabbuka aw yatiya baAAdu ayati rabbika yawma yatee baAAdu ayati rabbika la yanfaAAu nafsan eemanuha lam takun amanat min qablu aw kasabat fee eemaniha khayran quli intathiroo inna muntathiroona
Now are these people waiting for it that the angels should come down before them, or your Râbb should come HIMSELF, or some clear Signs of your Râbb should be manifested?  The day when specific signs of your Râbb will be manifested then the Faith of such person who did not bring Faith earlier -- will not benefit him/her at all, or who has not earned any good in his/her Faith.  O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), tell them, well you wait, we are also waiting.

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ فَرَّقُواْ دِينَهُمْ وَكَانُواْ شِيَعًا لَّسْتَ مِنْهُمْ فِي شَيْءٍ إِنَّمَا أَمْرُهُمْ إِلَى اللّهِ ثُمَّ يُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا كَانُواْ يَفْعَلُونَ

159.        Inna allatheena farraqoo deenahum wakanoo shiyaAAan lasta minhum fee shayin innama amruhum ila Allahi thumma yunabbiohum bima kanoo yafAAaloona
Those people who divided their Deen (the way of life) into parts and became different sects (groups) surely you have nothing to do with them, their affair is with Allâh HE will tell them that what they have done.

مَن جَاء بِالْحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُ عَشْرُ أَمْثَالِهَا وَمَن جَاء بِالسَّيِّئَةِ فَلاَ يُجْزَى إِلاَّ مِثْلَهَا وَهُمْ لاَ يُظْلَمُونَ

160.         Man jaa bialhasanati falahu AAashru amthaliha waman jaa bialssayyiati fala yujza illa mithlaha wahum la yuthlamoona
Whoever will bring good deed before Allâh there is ten times reward for him/her, and whoever will bring an evil deed he/she will be given recompense according to his/her evil deed and no one will be treated unjustly.

قُلْ إِنَّنِي هَدَانِي رَبِّي إِلَى صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ دِينًا قِيَمًا مِّلَّةَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَنِيفًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ

161.         Qul innanee hadanee rabbee ila siratin mustaqeemin deenan qiyaman millata ibraheema haneefan wama kana mina almushrikeena
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), say, certainly my Râbb has shown me the Straight Path, absolutely the true Deen (Islam – the way to live life) in which their is no doubt, the way of Ibrâhim which he had adopted exclusively (Hanifa) and he was not from among the idolaters (Al-Mushrikûn).

قُلْ إِنَّ صَلاَتِي وَنُسُكِي وَمَحْيَايَ وَمَمَاتِي لِلّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

162.         Qul inna salatee wanusukee wamahyaya wamamatee lillahi rabbi alAAalameena
Say, my prayer (Salât), all my observance (ways) of worship, my living and my dying, everything is for Allâh the Râbb of the universe ('Alamîn).

لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَبِذَلِكَ أُمِرْتُ وَأَنَاْ أَوَّلُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ

163.         La shareeka lahu wabithalika omirtu waana awwalu almuslimeena
HE has no partners. This is what I have been commanded and I am the first to surrender in obedience to HIM (as a Muslim)."

قُلْ أَغَيْرَ اللّهِ أَبْغِي رَبًّا وَهُوَ رَبُّ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَلاَ تَكْسِبُ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ إِلاَّ عَلَيْهَا وَلاَ تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ وِزْرَ أُخْرَى ثُمَّ إِلَى رَبِّكُم مَّرْجِعُكُمْ فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ فِيهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَ

164.         Qul aghayra Allahi abghee rabban wahuwa rabbu kulli shayin wala taksibu kullu nafsin illa AAalayha wala taziru waziratun wizra okhra thumma ila rabbikum marjiAAukum fayunabbiokum bima kuntum feehi takhtalifoona
Say: "Should I seek another Râbb except Allâh whereas HE is the Râbb of everything?  Whatever one earns one is responsible for that, no bearer of burdens bears the burdens of another person, then all of you have to return to your Râbb, at that time HE will manifest the reality of your differences to you."

وَهُوَ الَّذِي جَعَلَكُمْ خَلاَئِفَ الأَرْضِ وَرَفَعَ بَعْضَكُمْ فَوْقَ بَعْضٍ دَرَجَاتٍ لِّيَبْلُوَكُمْ فِي مَا آتَاكُمْ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ سَرِيعُ الْعِقَابِ وَإِنَّهُ لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

165.         Wahuwa allathee jaAAalakum khalaifa alardi warafaAAa baAAdakum fawqa baAAdin darajatin liyabluwakum fee ma atakum inna rabbaka sareeAAu alAAiqabi wainnahu laghafoorun raheemun
HE is the One WHO made you caliph (vicegerent) on the earth, and gave higher ranks to some of you as compare to others, so that whatever is given to you for that (HE) may test you.  No doubt your Râbb is very swift in giving punishment and also Oft Forgiving and Most Merciful.(R) 7

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

المص

1.                Alif­Lâm­Mîm­Suâd
(Alif­Lâm­Mîm­Suâd  -- Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala, Alone knows the real meanings of these letters).

كِتَابٌ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ فَلاَ يَكُن فِي صَدْرِكَ حَرَجٌ مِّنْهُ لِتُنذِرَ بِهِ وَذِكْرَى لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

2.                Kitabun onzila ilayka fala yakun fee sadrika harajun minhu litunthira bihi wathikra lilmumineena
This is a Book (Al-Qur'ân) that has been revealed towards you, therefore O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), there should be no hesitation in your heart from it.  The reason to reveal this Book is that you scare (the infidels) and advise the believers through it.

اتَّبِعُواْ مَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكُم مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَلاَ تَتَّبِعُواْ مِن دُونِهِ أَوْلِيَاء قَلِيلاً مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ

3.                IttabiAAoo ma onzila ilaykum min rabbikum wala tattabiAAoo min doonihi awliyaa qaleelan ma tathakkaroona
O People, whatever has been revealed towards you from your Râbb follow it and do not follow other deities except your Râbb--but you seldom accept the advice.

وَكَم مِّن قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَاهَا فَجَاءهَا بَأْسُنَا بَيَاتًا أَوْ هُمْ قَآئِلُونَ

4.                Wakam min qaryatin ahlaknaha fajaaha basuna bayatan aw hum qailoona
There are number of towns, which WE have destroyed.  OUR Torment came on them suddenly at nighttime, or came at such time in the bright daylight when they were resting.

فَمَا كَانَ دَعْوَاهُمْ إِذْ جَاءهُمْ بَأْسُنَا إِلاَّ أَن قَالُواْ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ

5.                Fama kana daAAwahum ith jaahum basuna illa an qaloo inna kunna thalimeena
And when OUR Torment seized them then there were no other words on their tongues except that we were really wrongdoers (Zâlimûn).

فَلَنَسْأَلَنَّ الَّذِينَ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْهِمْ وَلَنَسْأَلَنَّ الْمُرْسَلِينَ

6.                Falanasalanna allatheena orsila ilayhim walanasalanna almursaleena
Therefore this is surely going to happen that WE question those people towards whom WE have sent the Prophets and also ask the Prophets.

فَلَنَقُصَّنَّ عَلَيْهِم بِعِلْمٍ وَمَا كُنَّا غَآئِبِينَ

7.                Falanaqussanna AAalayhim biAAilmin wama kunna ghaibeena
(That how well have they performed the duty to deliver the message and what response they received about it) Then WE OURSELF shall present whole story before them with complete knowledge; after all WE were not absent.

وَالْوَزْنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْحَقُّ فَمَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَازِينُهُ فَأُوْلَـئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ

8.                Waalwaznu yawmaithini alhaqqu faman thaqulat mawazeenuhu faolaika humu almuflihoona
And on that day the weighing will be with complete truth.  Whose scales (of good deeds) will be heavy they will be the successful.

وَمَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَازِينُهُ فَأُوْلَـئِكَ الَّذِينَ خَسِرُواْ أَنفُسَهُم بِمَا كَانُواْ بِآيَاتِنَا يِظْلِمُونَ

9.                Waman khaffat mawazeenuhu faolaika allatheena khasiroo anfusahum bima kanoo biayatina yathlimoona
And those, whose scales will be lighter, they are the ones who will put themselves in loss because they had been mistreating OUR Revelation (Ayât).

وَلَقَدْ مَكَّنَّاكُمْ فِي الأَرْضِ وَجَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ فِيهَا مَعَايِشَ قَلِيلاً مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ

10.             Walaqad makkannakum fee alardi wajaAAalna lakum feeha maAAayisha qaleelan ma tashkuroona
WE established you on the earth with authority and provided you the means of sustenance, but you people seldom become thankful. (R) 8

وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَاكُمْ ثُمَّ صَوَّرْنَاكُمْ ثُمَّ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلآئِكَةِ اسْجُدُواْ لآدَمَ فَسَجَدُواْ إِلاَّ إِبْلِيسَ لَمْ يَكُن مِّنَ السَّاجِدِينَ

11.             Walaqad khalaqnakum thumma sawwarnakum thumma qulna lilmalaikati osjudoo liadama fasajadoo illa ibleesa lam yakun mina alssajideena
WE originated your creation, then made your figure, and then commanded angels to bow down in prostration before Adam.  On this command they all bowed down in prostration but Iblîs (Satan) did not join those who prostrated.

قَالَ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَلاَّ تَسْجُدَ إِذْ أَمَرْتُكَ قَالَ أَنَاْ خَيْرٌ مِّنْهُ خَلَقْتَنِي مِن نَّارٍ وَخَلَقْتَهُ مِن طِينٍ

12.             Qala ma manaAAaka alla tasjuda ith amartuka qala ana khayrun minhu khalaqtanee min narin wakhalaqtahu min teenin
(Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) Asked: "What hold you back from bowing down in prostration when I had commanded you?" (He) Replied: "I am better than him (Adam), YOU have created me from fire and him from clay."

قَالَ فَاهْبِطْ مِنْهَا فَمَا يَكُونُ لَكَ أَن تَتَكَبَّرَ فِيهَا فَاخْرُجْ إِنَّكَ مِنَ الصَّاغِرِينَ

13.             Qala faihbit minha fama yakoonu laka an tatakabbara feeha faokhruj innaka mina alssaghireena
(Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) Said: "Well, you get down from here.  You do not have right to be arrogant here.  Get out, in fact you are from among those people who themselves want their humiliation."

قَالَ فَأَنظِرْنِي إِلَى يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ

14.             Qala anthirnee ila yawmi yubAAathoona
(Iblîs) Requested: "Give me respite till that Day when they all will be raised again (Day of Resurrection)."

قَالَ إِنَّكَ مِنَ المُنظَرِينَ

15.             Qala innaka mina almunthareena
(Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) Responded: "You are granted the respite."

قَالَ فَبِمَا أَغْوَيْتَنِي لأَقْعُدَنَّ لَهُمْ صِرَاطَكَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ

16.             Qala fabima aghwaytanee laaqAAudanna lahum sirataka almustaqeema
(Iblîs) Declared: "Well the way YOU have sent me astray, now I will also keep trapping these human beings (who are) on YOUR Straight Path,

ثُمَّ لآتِيَنَّهُم مِّن بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ وَعَنْ أَيْمَانِهِمْ وَعَن شَمَآئِلِهِمْ وَلاَ تَجِدُ أَكْثَرَهُمْ شَاكِرِينَ

17.             Thumma laatiyannahum min bayni aydeehim wamin khalfihim waAAan aymanihim waAAan shamailihim wala tajidu aktharahum shakireena
I will trap them from all sides, front and back, right and left, and you will not find most of them thankful."

قَالَ اخْرُجْ مِنْهَا مَذْؤُومًا مَّدْحُورًا لَّمَن تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ لأَمْلأنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

18.             Qala okhruj minha mathooman madhooran laman tabiAAaka minhum laamlaanna jahannama minkum ajmaAAeena
(Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) Said (to Iblîs): "Get out from here disgraced and rejected one. Be sure that among them whoever will follow you -- accompanying you I will fill the Hell with all of them.

وَيَا آدَمُ اسْكُنْ أَنتَ وَزَوْجُكَ الْجَنَّةَ فَكُلاَ مِنْ حَيْثُ شِئْتُمَا وَلاَ تَقْرَبَا هَـذِهِ الشَّجَرَةَ فَتَكُونَا مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ

19.             Waya adamu oskun anta wazawjuka aljannata fakula min haythu shituma wala taqraba hathihi alshshajarata fatakoona mina alththalimeena
And O Adam, you and your wife, both live in this Paradise, eat wherever whatever you want to eat, but never go near to this tree otherwise (you) will be among the wrongdoers (Zâlimûn)."

فَوَسْوَسَ لَهُمَا الشَّيْطَانُ لِيُبْدِيَ لَهُمَا مَا وُورِيَ عَنْهُمَا مِن سَوْءَاتِهِمَا وَقَالَ مَا نَهَاكُمَا رَبُّكُمَا عَنْ هَـذِهِ الشَّجَرَةِ إِلاَّ أَن تَكُونَا مَلَكَيْنِ أَوْ تَكُونَا مِنَ الْخَالِدِينَ

20.             Fawaswasa lahuma alshshaytanu liyubdiya lahuma ma wooriya AAanhuma min sawatihima waqala ma nahakuma rabbukuma AAan hathihi alshshajarati illa an takoona malakayni aw takoona mina alkhalideena
Then Satan (Iblîs) seduced them in order to uncover their private parts, which were kept hidden from each other.  He (Iblîs) said to them: "There is no reason that your Râbb has forbidden you from this tree except this that you may not become angel, or you may not attain eternal life."

وَقَاسَمَهُمَا إِنِّي لَكُمَا لَمِنَ النَّاصِحِينَ

21.             Waqasamahuma innee lakuma lamina alnnasiheena
And he (Iblîs) assured to them and said that I am your true well-wisher.

فَدَلاَّهُمَا بِغُرُورٍ فَلَمَّا ذَاقَا الشَّجَرَةَ بَدَتْ لَهُمَا سَوْءَاتُهُمَا وَطَفِقَا يَخْصِفَانِ عَلَيْهِمَا مِن وَرَقِ الْجَنَّةِ وَنَادَاهُمَا رَبُّهُمَا أَلَمْ أَنْهَكُمَا عَن تِلْكُمَا الشَّجَرَةِ وَأَقُل لَّكُمَا إِنَّ الشَّيْطَآنَ لَكُمَا عَدُوٌّ مُّبِينٌ

22.             Fadallahuma bighuroorin falamma thaqa alshshajarata badat lahuma sawatuhuma watafiqa yakhsifani AAalayhima min waraqi aljannati wanadahuma rabbuhuma alam anhakuma AAan tilkuma alshshajarati waaqul lakuma inna alshshaytana lakuma AAaduwwun mubeenun
This way deceiving them and he gradually brought both of them to his way.  Eventually when they tasted that tree then their private parts were exposed to each other and they began to cover their bodies with the leaves of Paradise.  Then their Râbb called them: "Did I not forbid you from that tree and did I not say that Satan (Iblîs) is your open enemy?"

قَالاَ رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ

23.             Qala rabbana thalamna anfusana wain lam taghfir lana watarhamna lanakoonanna mina alkhasireena
They both submitted: "O our Râbb we have done injustice to ourselves, now if YOU did not forgive us and have Mercy on us then surely we shall be destroyed."

قَالَ اهْبِطُواْ بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ وَلَكُمْ فِي الأَرْضِ مُسْتَقَرٌّ وَمَتَاعٌ إِلَى حِينٍ

24.             Qala ihbitoo baAAdukum libaAAdin AAaduwwun walakum fee alardi mustaqarrun wamataAAun ila heenin
(Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) Replied: "Get down, you are enemies to each other (Adam, Hawwa/Eve, and Iblîs), and for you there is a living place and livelihood on the earth for a fixed period of time."

قَالَ فِيهَا تَحْيَوْنَ وَفِيهَا تَمُوتُونَ وَمِنْهَا تُخْرَجُونَ

25.             Qala feeha tahyawna wafeeha tamootoona waminha tukhrajoona
And said: "There you have to live and die and eventually you will be brought out from it." (R) 9

يَا بَنِي آدَمَ قَدْ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكُمْ لِبَاسًا يُوَارِي سَوْءَاتِكُمْ وَرِيشًا وَلِبَاسُ التَّقْوَىَ ذَلِكَ خَيْرٌ ذَلِكَ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللّهِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ

26.             Ya banee adama qad anzalna AAalaykum libasan yuwaree sawatikum wareeshan walibasu alttaqwa thalika khayrun thalika min ayati Allahi laAAallahum yaththakkaroona
O Children of Adam, WE have sent down clothes for you so that it covers the private parts of your body and also should be the means of protection and beautification for your body, and the best clothing is the clothing of piety.  This is one Sign from the Signs of Allâh; perhaps people may learn lesson from it.

يَا بَنِي آدَمَ لاَ يَفْتِنَنَّكُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ كَمَا أَخْرَجَ أَبَوَيْكُم مِّنَ الْجَنَّةِ يَنزِعُ عَنْهُمَا لِبَاسَهُمَا لِيُرِيَهُمَا سَوْءَاتِهِمَا إِنَّهُ يَرَاكُمْ هُوَ وَقَبِيلُهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لاَ تَرَوْنَهُمْ إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا الشَّيَاطِينَ أَوْلِيَاء لِلَّذِينَ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ

27.             Ya banee adama la yaftinannakumu alshshaytanu kama akhraja abawaykum mina aljannati yanziAAu AAanhuma libasahuma liyuriyahuma sawatihima innahu yarakum huwa waqabeeluhu min haythu la tarawnahum inna jaAAalna alshshayateena awliyaa lillatheena la yuminoona
O Children of Adam, it should not be that Satan involves you again in the mischief the way he had gotten your parents (Adam and Hawwa) out of the Paradise and had stripped them off from their clothes in order to uncover their private parts to each other.  He and his companions (Qabîluhu) see you from where you cannot see them.  WE have made these Shayâtin (Satans) the guardian (Auliyâ') of those people who do not bring Faith.

وَإِذَا فَعَلُواْ فَاحِشَةً قَالُواْ وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهَا آبَاءنَا وَاللّهُ أَمَرَنَا بِهَا قُلْ إِنَّ اللّهَ لاَ يَأْمُرُ بِالْفَحْشَاء أَتَقُولُونَ عَلَى اللّهِ مَا لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ

28.             Waitha faAAaloo fahishatan qaloo wajadna AAalayha abaana waAllahu amarana biha qul inna Allaha la yamuru bialfahshai ataqooloona AAala Allahi ma la taAAlamoona
When these people commit any shameful act (Fâhisha) then they say that we have found our forefathers on this path and Allâh has commanded us to do so. Tell them, Allâh never commands to commit shameful acts (Fâhisha).  Do you say those things with the name of Allâh about which you do not have any knowledge that those are from Allâh?

قُلْ أَمَرَ رَبِّي بِالْقِسْطِ وَأَقِيمُواْ وُجُوهَكُمْ عِندَ كُلِّ مَسْجِدٍ وَادْعُوهُ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ كَمَا بَدَأَكُمْ تَعُودُونَ

29.             Qul amara rabbee bialqisti waaqeemoo wujoohakum AAinda kulli masjidin waodAAoohu mukhliseena lahu alddeena kama badaakum taAAoodoona
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), tell them, my Râbb has commanded for righteousness and justice, and HIS command is that in each worship keep your direction right and call HIM alone keeping your Deen exclusively for HIM.  The way HE has created you now in the same way you will be created again.

فَرِيقًا هَدَى وَفَرِيقًا حَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ الضَّلاَلَةُ إِنَّهُمُ اتَّخَذُوا الشَّيَاطِينَ أَوْلِيَاء مِن دُونِ اللّهِ وَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّهُم مُّهْتَدُونَ

30.             Fareeqan hada wafareeqan haqqa AAalayhimu alddalalatu innahumu ittakhathoo alshshayateena awliyaa min dooni Allahi wayahsaboona annahum muhtadoona
HE has shown the right path to a group, but error has been sticking on the other group because they have taken Shayâtin (Satans) as their guardian (Auliyâ') except Allâh and they are thinking that they are on the straight path.

يَا بَنِي آدَمَ خُذُواْ زِينَتَكُمْ عِندَ كُلِّ مَسْجِدٍ وكُلُواْ وَاشْرَبُواْ وَلاَ تُسْرِفُواْ إِنَّهُ لاَ يُحِبُّ الْمُسْرِفِينَ

31.             Ya banee adama khuthoo zeenatakum AAinda kulli masjidin wakuloo waishraboo wala tusrifoo innahu la yuhibbu almusrifeena
O Children of Adam, at the time of worship adorn yourselves with beautification and eat, drink and do not exceed the limits; Allâh does not like those who exceed the limits (Al-Musrifûn). (R) 10

قُلْ مَنْ حَرَّمَ زِينَةَ اللّهِ الَّتِيَ أَخْرَجَ لِعِبَادِهِ وَالْطَّيِّبَاتِ مِنَ الرِّزْقِ قُلْ هِي لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا خَالِصَةً يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ كَذَلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ الآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ

32.             Qul man harrama zeenata Allahi allatee akhraja liAAibadihi waalttayyibati mina alrrizqi qul hiya lillatheena amanoo fee alhayati alddunya khalisatan yawma alqiyamati kathalika nufassilu alayati liqawmin yaAAlamoona
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) ask them, "Who has forbidden that adornment of Allâh which Allâh had originated for HIS servants and who has forbidden the pure and clean (At-Taiyibât) things that Allâh has granted?"  Say: "In this worldly life all these things are for those who brought Faith, and on the Day of Resurrection these will be exclusively for them." In this way WE clearly state OUR Revelation for those people who have knowledge.

قُلْ إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ رَبِّيَ الْفَوَاحِشَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَ وَالإِثْمَ وَالْبَغْيَ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَأَن تُشْرِكُواْ بِاللّهِ مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ بِهِ سُلْطَانًا وَأَن تَقُولُواْ عَلَى اللّهِ مَا لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ

33.             Qul innama harrama rabbiya alfawahisha ma thahara minha wama batana waalithma waalbaghya bighayri alhaqqi waan tushrikoo biAllahi ma lam yunazzil bihi sultanan waan taqooloo AAala Allahi ma la taAAlamoona
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) tell them, that the things which my Râbb has forbidden are: shameful deeds (Al­Fawâhish)--whether open or hidden--and all sinful acts and oppression (injustice) against Truth and also that you associate partners with Allâh for which HE has not sent any affirmation, and that (you) say something on the name of Allâh about which you do not have any knowledge (that in fact HE has said so).

وَلِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلٌ فَإِذَا جَاء أَجَلُهُمْ لاَ يَسْتَأْخِرُونَ سَاعَةً وَلاَ يَسْتَقْدِمُونَ

34.             Walikulli ommatin ajalun faitha jaa ajaluhum la yastakhiroona saAAatan wala yastaqdimoona
The respite time has been fixed for each nation, when the completion of term of any nation arrives then there is no delay or expedite (being early) in it for a single moment.

يَا بَنِي آدَمَ إِمَّا يَأْتِيَنَّكُمْ رُسُلٌ مِّنكُمْ يَقُصُّونَ عَلَيْكُمْ آيَاتِي فَمَنِ اتَّقَى وَأَصْلَحَ فَلاَ خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلاَ هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ

35.             Ya banee adama imma yatiyannakum rusulun minkum yaqussoona AAalaykum ayatee famani ittaqa waaslaha fala khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoona
(And Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala, had said this thing at the beginning of the creation that) O Children of Adam, remember; if such Rasools come to you from among yourselves who are reciting MY Revelation to you, then whosoever will refrain from disobedience and will correct his/her deeds then there is no occasion of fear and grieve for him/her,

وَالَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ بِآيَاتِنَا وَاسْتَكْبَرُواْ عَنْهَا أُوْلَـَئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ

36.             Waallatheena kaththaboo biayatina waistakbaroo AAanha olaika ashabu alnnari hum feeha khalidoona
And those people who will deny OUR Revelation (Ayât) and will revolt against them -- those (people) are the ones who will be the dwellers of the Hell where they will stay forever.

فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ افْتَرَى عَلَى اللّهِ كَذِبًا أَوْ كَذَّبَ بِآيَاتِهِ أُوْلَـئِكَ يَنَالُهُمْ نَصِيبُهُم مِّنَ الْكِتَابِ حَتَّى إِذَا جَاءتْهُمْ رُسُلُنَا يَتَوَفَّوْنَهُمْ قَالُواْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ اللّهِ قَالُواْ ضَلُّواْ عَنَّا وَشَهِدُواْ عَلَى أَنفُسِهِمْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُواْ كَافِرِينَ

37.             Faman athlamu mimmani iftara AAala Allahi kathiban aw kaththaba biayatihi olaika yanaluhum naseebuhum mina alkitabi hatta itha jaathum rusuluna yatawaffawnahum qaloo ayna ma kuntum tadAAoona min dooni Allahi qaloo dalloo AAanna washahidoo AAala anfusihim annahum kanoo kafireena
After all who else would be crueler than the one who falsely invents lie and ascribe it to Allâh or denies the True Revelation of Allâh?  Such people will keep getting their destined share (according to their fate), until that moment will reach when the Angels sent by US will arrive to seize their souls.  At that time they (Angels) will ask them: "Tell, now where are your deities whom you used to invoke except Allâh"? They will say: "All are lost from us."  And they will testify against themselves that they were in fact the deniers of Truth.

قَالَ ادْخُلُواْ فِي أُمَمٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِكُم مِّن الْجِنِّ وَالإِنسِ فِي النَّارِ كُلَّمَا دَخَلَتْ أُمَّةٌ لَّعَنَتْ أُخْتَهَا حَتَّى إِذَا ادَّارَكُواْ فِيهَا جَمِيعًا قَالَتْ أُخْرَاهُمْ لأُولاَهُمْ رَبَّنَا هَـؤُلاء أَضَلُّونَا فَآتِهِمْ عَذَابًا ضِعْفًا مِّنَ النَّارِ قَالَ لِكُلٍّ ضِعْفٌ وَلَـكِن لاَّ تَعْلَمُونَ

38.             Qala odkhuloo fee omamin qad khalat min qablikum mina aljinni waalinsi fee alnnari kullama dakhalat ommatun laAAanat okhtaha hatta itha iddarakoo feeha jameeAAan qalat okhrahum lioolahum rabbana haolai adalloona faatihim AAathaban diAAfan mina alnnari qala likullin diAAfun walakin la taAAlamoona
Allâh will say go, you also enter to the same Hell in which a group of men and jinns have gone before you.  When each group will enter in the Hell then it will enter cursing its former group, until when they all will be gathered there then every last group will say about the first group that O Râbb, these were the people who misled us therefore give them double torment of the Fire.  In response it will be said, there is double torment for everyone but you do not know.

وَقَالَتْ أُولاَهُمْ لأُخْرَاهُمْ فَمَا كَانَ لَكُمْ عَلَيْنَا مِن فَضْلٍ فَذُوقُواْ الْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْسِبُونَ

39.             Waqalat oolahum liokhrahum fama kana lakum AAalayna min fadlin fathooqoo alAAathaba bima kuntum taksiboona
And first group will say to the second group that (if we were blameworthy then) what superiority you had on us, now in result of your earning taste the punishment. (R) 11

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ بِآيَاتِنَا وَاسْتَكْبَرُواْ عَنْهَا لاَ تُفَتَّحُ لَهُمْ أَبْوَابُ السَّمَاء وَلاَ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ حَتَّى يَلِجَ الْجَمَلُ فِي سَمِّ الْخِيَاطِ وَكَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُجْرِمِينَ

40.             Inna allatheena kaththaboo biayatina waistakbaroo AAanha la tufattahu lahum abwabu alssamai wala yadkhuloona aljannata hatta yalija aljamalu fee sammi alkhiyati wakathalika najzee almujrimeena
Believe it, the doors of skies will never be opened for those people who have negated OUR Revelations (Ayât) and have rebelled against them.  Their entry into Paradise is as impossible as the passing of camel through the hole of needle.  This is how WE recompense the criminals (Mujrimûn).

لَهُم مِّن جَهَنَّمَ مِهَادٌ وَمِن فَوْقِهِمْ غَوَاشٍ وَكَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الظَّالِمِينَ

41.             Lahum min jahannama mihadun wamin fawqihim ghawashin wakathalika najzee alththalimeena
There will be a bed of Hell (fire) for them and also the covering of Hell.  This is the reward that WE will give to the cruels (Zâlimûn).

وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ الصَّالِحَاتِ لاَ نُكَلِّفُ نَفْسًا إِلاَّ وُسْعَهَا أُوْلَـئِكَ أَصْحَابُ الْجَنَّةِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ

42.             Waallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati la nukallifu nafsan illa wusAAaha olaika ashabu aljannati hum feeha khalidoona
On contrary to it those people who have accepted OUR Revelation and have done good deeds --and in this regard WE hold everyone accountable according to his/her capacity--these are the residents of Paradise where they will stay forever.

وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِي صُدُورِهِم مِّنْ غِلٍّ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهِمُ الأَنْهَارُ وَقَالُواْ الْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ الَّذِي هَدَانَا لِهَـذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لِنَهْتَدِيَ لَوْلا أَنْ هَدَانَا اللّهُ لَقَدْ جَاءتْ رُسُلُ رَبِّنَا بِالْحَقِّ وَنُودُواْ أَن تِلْكُمُ الْجَنَّةُ أُورِثْتُمُوهَا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

43.             WanazaAAna ma fee sudoorihim min ghillin tajree min tahtihimu alanharu waqaloo alhamdu lillahi allathee hadana lihatha wama kunna linahtadiya lawla an hadana Allahu laqad jaat rusulu rabbina bialhaqqi wanoodoo an tilkumu aljannatu oorithtumooha bima kuntum taAAmaloona
WE shall remove the hatred, which they will have in their hearts against each other. The canals will be flowing underneath them and they will say: "Praise is for Allâh Alone WHO showed us this path; we ourselves could never have found the Path if Allâh have not guided us, the Rasools sent by our Râbb certainly brought the truth."  At that time a voice will be heard that: "The Paradise of which you have been made heirs, you have gotten that as a reward for those deeds that you have been doing."

وَنَادَى أَصْحَابُ الْجَنَّةِ أَصْحَابَ النَّارِ أَن قَدْ وَجَدْنَا مَا وَعَدَنَا رَبُّنَا حَقًّا فَهَلْ وَجَدتُّم مَّا وَعَدَ رَبُّكُمْ حَقًّا قَالُواْ نَعَمْ فَأَذَّنَ مُؤَذِّنٌ بَيْنَهُمْ أَن لَّعْنَةُ اللّهِ عَلَى الظَّالِمِينَ

44.             Wanada ashabu aljannati ashaba alnnari an qad wajadna ma waAAadana rabbuna haqqan fahal wajadtum ma waAAada rabbukum haqqan qaloo naAAam faaththana muaththinun baynahum an laAAnatu Allahi AAala alththalimeena
Then these people of Paradise will call out to the people of Hell (saying): "We found all those promises true what our Râbb had promised to us, did you also find those promises true what your Râbb had promised?"  They shall reply, “Yes”.  Then a caller will call out in between them that: "The Curse of Allâh is upon those cruels (Zâlimûn),

الَّذِينَ يَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللّهِ وَيَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا وَهُم بِالآخِرَةِ كَافِرُونَ

45.             Allatheena yasuddoona AAan sabeeli Allahi wayabghoonaha AAiwajan wahum bialakhirati kafiroona
Who stop the people from the Path of Allâh and wanted to distort it and were deniers of the Hereafter."

وَبَيْنَهُمَا حِجَابٌ وَعَلَى الأَعْرَافِ رِجَالٌ يَعْرِفُونَ كُلاًّ بِسِيمَاهُمْ وَنَادَوْاْ أَصْحَابَ الْجَنَّةِ أَن سَلاَمٌ عَلَيْكُمْ لَمْ يَدْخُلُوهَا وَهُمْ يَطْمَعُونَ

46.             Wabaynahuma hijabun waAAala alaAArafi rijalun yaAArifoona kullan biseemahum wanadaw ashaba aljannati an salamun AAalaykum lam yadkhulooha wahum yatmaAAoona
A barrier will be between these two groups; on the heights (Al­A'râf) of it there will be some other people.  They will recognize everyone from their marks and will call out to the people of Paradise that: "Peace is upon you (Salâmun 'Alaikûm)”.  These people have not entered into the Paradise but (they) will be its candidates.

وَإِذَا صُرِفَتْ أَبْصَارُهُمْ تِلْقَاء أَصْحَابِ النَّارِ قَالُواْ رَبَّنَا لاَ تَجْعَلْنَا مَعَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ

47.             Waitha surifat absaruhum tilqaa ashabi alnnari qaloo rabbana la tajAAalna maAAa alqawmi alththalimeena
And when their eyes will turn towards the people of Hell then they will say: "O Râbb!  "Do not include us among these cruel people." (R) 12

وَنَادَى أَصْحَابُ الأَعْرَافِ رِجَالاً يَعْرِفُونَهُمْ بِسِيمَاهُمْ قَالُواْ مَا أَغْنَى عَنكُمْ جَمْعُكُمْ وَمَا كُنتُمْ تَسْتَكْبِرُونَ

48.             Wanada ashabu alaAArafi rijalan yaAArifoonahum biseemahum qaloo ma aghna AAankum jamAAukum wama kuntum tastakbiroona
Then these people of heights (Al­A'râf), after recognizing some big personalities of the Hell-fire by their features, will say: "Have you seen, today neither your group nor wealth or properties which you used to consider a big thing benefited you?

أَهَـؤُلاء الَّذِينَ أَقْسَمْتُمْ لاَ يَنَالُهُمُ اللّهُ بِرَحْمَةٍ ادْخُلُواْ الْجَنَّةَ لاَ خَوْفٌ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلاَ أَنتُمْ تَحْزَنُونَ

49.             Ahaolai allatheena aqsamtum la yanaluhumu Allahu birahmatin odkhuloo aljannata la khawfun AAalaykum wala antum tahzanoona
And are these people of Paradise not the same people about whom you were saying by swearing that Allâh would not give anything from HIS Bounties?  Today it has been said to them that enter into the Paradise, there is no fear and grief for you”.

وَنَادَى أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ أَصْحَابَ الْجَنَّةِ أَنْ أَفِيضُواْ عَلَيْنَا مِنَ الْمَاء أَوْ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ اللّهُ قَالُواْ إِنَّ اللّهَ حَرَّمَهُمَا عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ

50.             Wanada ashabu alnari ashaba aljannati an afeedoo AAalayna mina almai aw mimma razaqakumu Allahu qaloo inna Allaha harramahuma AAala alkafireena
And the people of the Hell will call to the people of the Paradise: "Pour some water on us or throw something from the provisions which Allâh has given you." They will reply: "Allâh has forbidden both of these things for those deniers of the Truth

الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُواْ دِينَهُمْ لَهْوًا وَلَعِبًا وَغَرَّتْهُمُ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا فَالْيَوْمَ نَنسَاهُمْ كَمَا نَسُواْ لِقَاء يَوْمِهِمْ هَـذَا وَمَا كَانُواْ بِآيَاتِنَا يَجْحَدُونَ

51.             Allatheena ittakhathoo deenahum lahwan walaAAiban wagharrathumu alhayatu alddunya faalyawma nansahum kama nasoo liqaa yawmihim hatha wama kanoo biayatina yajhadoona
Who had made their Deen (the way of life) an act of a play and a thing of an amusement and whom the worldly life had kept in deception?”  Allâh Says that today WE will also forget them in the same way -- as they have been forgetting the meeting of this Day and have been denying OUR Revelations.

وَلَقَدْ جِئْنَاهُم بِكِتَابٍ فَصَّلْنَاهُ عَلَى عِلْمٍ هُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ

52.             Walaqad jinahum bikitabin fassalnahu AAala AAilmin hudan warahmatan liqawmin yuminoona
WE have brought such a Book (Al-Qur'ân) to these people, which WE have made specific or detailed on the basis of knowledge and which is a guidance and blessing for those who bring Faith.

هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلاَّ تَأْوِيلَهُ يَوْمَ يَأْتِي تَأْوِيلُهُ يَقُولُ الَّذِينَ نَسُوهُ مِن قَبْلُ قَدْ جَاءتْ رُسُلُ رَبِّنَا بِالْحَقِّ فَهَل لَّنَا مِن شُفَعَاء فَيَشْفَعُواْ لَنَا أَوْ نُرَدُّ فَنَعْمَلَ غَيْرَ الَّذِي كُنَّا نَعْمَلُ قَدْ خَسِرُواْ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَفْتَرُونَ

53.             Hal yanthuroona illa taweelahu yawma yatee taweeluhu yaqoolu allatheena nasoohu min qablu qad jaat rusulu rabbina bialhaqqi fahal lana min shufaAAaa fayashfaAAoo lana aw nuraddu fanaAAmala ghayra allathee kunna naAAmalu qad khasiroo anfusahum wadalla AAanhum ma kanoo yaftaroona
Now are these people waiting for something else than this that the result should come before them about which this Book is warning?  The Day that result comes before (them) then the same people who had ignored it before (they) will say: "In fact the Rasools of our Râbb had brought the Truth, then will now we get some patrons who intercession in our favor?  Or either we should be sent back again so that what we used to do before instead of that now we should do it in a different way”-- They have put themselves in loss and all those lies which they had invented, today lost from them. (R) 13

إِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ اللّهُ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ اسْتَوَى عَلَى الْعَرْشِ يُغْشِي اللَّيْلَ النَّهَارَ يَطْلُبُهُ حَثِيثًا وَالشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ وَالنُّجُومَ مُسَخَّرَاتٍ بِأَمْرِهِ أَلاَ لَهُ الْخَلْقُ وَالأَمْرُ تَبَارَكَ اللّهُ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ

54.             Inna rabbakumu Allahu allathee khalaqa alssamawati waalarda fee sittati ayyamin thumma istawa AAala alAAarshi yughshee allayla alnnahara yatlubuhu hatheethan waalshshamsa waalqamara waalnnujooma musakhkharatin biamrihi ala lahu alkhalqu waalamru tabaraka Allahu rabbu alAAalameena
In fact your Râbb is Allâh Alone, WHO created the skies and the earth in Six Days, then sat on (Istawâ) HIS Throne of Kingdom.  WHO causes the night to cover the day and then day comes following the night. The One WHO created the sun and the moon and the stars -- all are subject to HIS Command.  Be aware! HIS is the Creation and HIS is the Commandment.  Allâh has great Blessings, the Owner and Râbb of all the worlds ('Alamîn).

ادْعُواْ رَبَّكُمْ تَضَرُّعًا وَخُفْيَةً إِنَّهُ لاَ يُحِبُّ الْمُعْتَدِينَ

55.             OdAAoo rabbakum tadarruAAan wakhufyatan innahu la yuhibbu almuAAtadeena
Call upon your Râbb openly (crying) and secretly; surely HE does not like those who cross the limits.

وَلاَ تُفْسِدُواْ فِي الأَرْضِ بَعْدَ إِصْلاَحِهَا وَادْعُوهُ خَوْفًا وَطَمَعًا إِنَّ رَحْمَتَ اللّهِ قَرِيبٌ مِّنَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ

56.             Wala tufsidoo fee alardi baAAda islahiha waodAAoohu khawfan watamaAAan inna rahmata Allahi qareebun mina almuhsineena
Do not make mischief on the earth while its reformation has been done and only call upon Allâh with fear and with hope (greed), surely the Blessing of Allâh is near to the righteous people.

وَهُوَ الَّذِي يُرْسِلُ الرِّيَاحَ بُشْرًا بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَحْمَتِهِ حَتَّى إِذَا أَقَلَّتْ سَحَابًا ثِقَالاً سُقْنَاهُ لِبَلَدٍ مَّيِّتٍ فَأَنزَلْنَا بِهِ الْمَاء فَأَخْرَجْنَا بِهِ مِن كُلِّ الثَّمَرَاتِ كَذَلِكَ نُخْرِجُ الْموْتَى لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ

57.             Wahuwa allathee yursilu alrriyaha bushran bayna yaday rahmatihi hatta itha aqallat sahaban thiqalan suqnahu libaladin mayyitin faanzalna bihi almaa faakhrajna bihi min kulli alththamarati kathalika nukhriju almawta laAAallakum tathakkaroona
And HE is Allâh WHO sends the winds before HIS Blessings as carrier of good news, and when they lift up the clouds full of water, then drives them towards some dead land and causing the rain to fall there (from this dead land) brings out different kinds of fruits.  Look, in this way WE bring out the dead from the state of death, perhaps you may learn a lesson from this observation.

وَالْبَلَدُ الطَّيِّبُ يَخْرُجُ نَبَاتُهُ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِ وَالَّذِي خَبُثَ لاَ يَخْرُجُ إِلاَّ نَكِدًا كَذَلِكَ نُصَرِّفُ الآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَشْكُرُونَ

58.             Waalbaladu alttayyibu yakhruju nabatuhu biithni rabbihi waallathee khabutha la yakhruju illa nakidan kathalika nusarrifu alayati liqawmin yashkuroona
The land, which is good that brings lot of fruits with the command of its Râbb, and the land, which is bad from it nothing comes out except the bad produce.  The same way WE present the signs over and again for those people who intend to be thankful. (R) 14

لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَى قَوْمِهِ فَقَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُواْ اللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَـهٍ غَيْرُهُ إِنِّيَ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ

59.             Laqad arsalna noohan ila qawmihi faqala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu innee akhafu AAalaykum AAathaba yawmin AAatheemin
WE sent Nûh towards his people.  He said: "O people of my nation, Worship Allâh there is no deity (Ilâh) for you except HIM.  I fear for you from the punishment of a dreadful Day."

قَالَ الْمَلأُ مِن قَوْمِهِ إِنَّا لَنَرَاكَ فِي ضَلاَلٍ مُّبِينٍ

60.             Qala almalao min qawmihi inna lanaraka fee dalalin mubeenin
The leaders of his nation responded: "We see that you are in clear error."

قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ لَيْسَ بِي ضَلاَلَةٌ وَلَكِنِّي رَسُولٌ مِّن رَّبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

61.             Qala ya qawmi laysa bee dalalatun walakinnee rasoolun min rabbi alAAalameena
Nûh said: "O people of my nation, I am not in any error but I am a Rasool of the Râbb of all the worlds (Râbb-ul-'Alamîn),

أُبَلِّغُكُمْ رِسَالاَتِ رَبِّي وَأَنصَحُ لَكُمْ وَأَعْلَمُ مِنَ اللّهِ مَا لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ

62.             Oballighukum risalati rabbee waansahu lakum waaAAlamu mina Allahi ma la taAAlamoona
(I) Convey you the Messages of my Râbb, (I am) your well-wisher and I know that from Allâh what you do not know.

أَوَعَجِبْتُمْ أَن جَاءكُمْ ذِكْرٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ عَلَى رَجُلٍ مِّنكُمْ لِيُنذِرَكُمْ وَلِتَتَّقُواْ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ

63.             Awa AAajibtum an jaakum thikrun min rabbikum AAala rajulin minkum liyunthirakum walitattaqoo walaAAallakum turhamoona
"Do you surprise on this thing that the warning of your Râbb has come to you through a man from among your own nation so that (he) warns you and you be saved from the wrongdoing and mercy be done to you"?

فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَنجَيْنَاهُ وَالَّذِينَ مَعَهُ فِي الْفُلْكِ وَأَغْرَقْنَا الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ بِآيَاتِنَا إِنَّهُمْ كَانُواْ قَوْماً عَمِينَ

64.             Fakaththaboohu faanjaynahu waallatheena maAAahu fee alfulki waaghraqna allatheena kaththaboo biayatina innahum kanoo qawman AAameena
But they denied him.  Finally WE gave salvation to him and his companions in a boat (Ark), and drowned those people who had denied OUR Revelation (Ayât) surely they were blind people. (R) 15

وَإِلَى عَادٍ أَخَاهُمْ هُوداً قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُواْ اللّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَـهٍ غَيْرُهُ أَفَلاَ تَتَّقُونَ

65.             Waila AAadin akhahum hoodan qala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu afala tattaqoona
And towards 'Ad (name of nation) WE sent their brother Hûd.  He said: "O people of my nation; worship Allâh you have no deity (Ilâh) except HIM.  Then will you not abstain from wrong doings?"

قَالَ الْمَلأُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِن قَوْمِهِ إِنَّا لَنَرَاكَ فِي سَفَاهَةٍ وِإِنَّا لَنَظُنُّكَ مِنَ الْكَاذِبِينَ

66.             Qala almalao allatheena kafaroo min qawmihi inna lanaraka fee safahatin wainna lanathunnuka mina alkathibeena
The leaders of his nation, who were denying accepting his word, replied: "We consider you in state of senselessness and we assume that you are a liar."

قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ لَيْسَ بِي سَفَاهَةٌ وَلَكِنِّي رَسُولٌ مِّن رَّبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

67.             Qala ya qawmi laysa bee safahatun walakinnee rasoolun min rabbi alAAalameena
He (Hûd) said: "O people of my nation, I am not in the state of senselessness whereas I am Rasool of the Râbb of all the worlds (Râbb-ul-'Alamîn),

أُبَلِّغُكُمْ رِسَالاتِ رَبِّي وَأَنَاْ لَكُمْ نَاصِحٌ أَمِينٌ

68.             Oballighukum risalati rabbee waana lakum nasihun ameenun
(I) Convey to you the Messages of my Râbb, and (I am) your such well-wisher who can be trusted.

أَوَعَجِبْتُمْ أَن جَاءكُمْ ذِكْرٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ عَلَى رَجُلٍ مِّنكُمْ لِيُنذِرَكُمْ وَاذكُرُواْ إِذْ جَعَلَكُمْ خُلَفَاء مِن بَعْدِ قَوْمِ نُوحٍ وَزَادَكُمْ فِي الْخَلْقِ بَسْطَةً فَاذْكُرُواْ آلاء اللّهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ

69.             Awa AAajibtum an jaakum thikrun min rabbikum AAala rajulin minkum liyunthirakum waothkuroo ith jaAAalakum khulafaa min baAAdi qawmi noohin wazadakum fee alkhalqi bastatan faothkuroo alaa Allahi laAAallakum tuflihoona
Did you surprise on this thing that the reminder from your Râbb came to you through a man of your own nation -- so that he should warn you?  Do not forget that after the nation of Nûh your Râbb made you their successors and made you very strong, so remember the Miracles of Domination of Allâh it is hoped that you will be benefited."

قَالُواْ أَجِئْتَنَا لِنَعْبُدَ اللّهَ وَحْدَهُ وَنَذَرَ مَا كَانَ يَعْبُدُ آبَاؤُنَا فَأْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَا إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ

70.             Qaloo ajitana linaAAbuda Allaha wahdahu wanathara ma kana yaAAbudu abaona fatina bima taAAiduna in kunta mina alssadiqeena
They replied: "Have you come to us for this reason that we should worship Allâh Alone and leave those whom our forefathers have been worshiping?  Well then bring that misery for which you are threatening us -- if you are truthful."

قَالَ قَدْ وَقَعَ عَلَيْكُم مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ رِجْسٌ وَغَضَبٌ أَتُجَادِلُونَنِي فِي أَسْمَاء سَمَّيْتُمُوهَا أَنتُمْ وَآبَآؤكُم مَّا نَزَّلَ اللّهُ بِهَا مِن سُلْطَانٍ فَانتَظِرُواْ إِنِّي مَعَكُم مِّنَ الْمُنتَظِرِينَ

71.             Qala qad waqaAAa AAalaykum min rabbikum rijsun waghadabun atujadiloonanee fee asmain sammaytumooha antum waabaokum ma nazzala Allahu biha min sultanin faintathiroo innee maAAakum mina almuntathireena
He (Hûd) said: "The Curse of your Râbb be upon you and HIS Wrath.  Do you dispute with me over those names, which you and your forefathers have named, for which Allâh has not sent any affirmation?  Well you wait and I also wait with you."

فَأَنجَيْنَاهُ وَالَّذِينَ مَعَهُ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنَّا وَقَطَعْنَا دَابِرَ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ بِآيَاتِنَا وَمَا كَانُواْ مُؤْمِنِينَ

72.             Faanjaynahu waallatheena maAAahu birahmatin minna waqataAAna dabira allatheena kaththaboo biayatina wama kanoo mumineena
Finally, WE saved Hûd and his companions with OUR Kindness and eradicated the roots of those people who had denied OUR Revelation (Ayât) and (they) were not going to bring Faith. (R) 16

وَإِلَى ثَمُودَ أَخَاهُمْ صَالِحًا قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُواْ اللّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَـهٍ غَيْرُهُ قَدْ جَاءتْكُم بَيِّنَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ هَـذِهِ نَاقَةُ اللّهِ لَكُمْ آيَةً فَذَرُوهَا تَأْكُلْ فِي أَرْضِ اللّهِ وَلاَ تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوَءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

73.             Waila thamooda akhahum salihan qala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu qad jaatkum bayyinatun min rabbikum hathihi naqatu Allahi lakum ayatan fatharooha takul fee ardi Allahi wala tamassooha bisooin fayakhuthakum AAathabun aleemun
And towards Thamûd (name of nation) WE sent their brother Sâlih.  He said: "O people of my nation; worship Allâh you have no deity (Ilâh) except HIM.  An open proof of your Râbb has come to you.  This female camel of Allâh is for you as a Sign, therefore leave her alone to graze in the land of Allâh.  Do not touch her with any bad intention otherwise a painful torment will seize you.

وَاذْكُرُواْ إِذْ جَعَلَكُمْ خُلَفَاء مِن بَعْدِ عَادٍ وَبَوَّأَكُمْ فِي الأَرْضِ تَتَّخِذُونَ مِن سُهُولِهَا قُصُورًا وَتَنْحِتُونَ الْجِبَالَ بُيُوتًا فَاذْكُرُواْ آلاء اللّهِ وَلاَ تَعْثَوْا فِي الأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ

74.             Waothkuroo ith jaAAalakum khulafaa min baAAdi AAadin wabawwaakum fee alardi tattakhithoona min suhooliha qusooran watanhitoona aljibala buyootan faothkuroo alaa Allahi wala taAAthaw fee alardi mufsideena
Remember that time when after nation of 'Ad Allâh made you their successors and gave you this rank on the earth that today you build great palaces on its plain land and chisel (cut) its mountains in the shape of homes.  Therefore do not be neglectful from the Miracles of HIS Domination and do not make mischief on the earth."

قَالَ الْمَلأُ الَّذِينَ اسْتَكْبَرُواْ مِن قَوْمِهِ لِلَّذِينَ اسْتُضْعِفُواْ لِمَنْ آمَنَ مِنْهُمْ أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ صَالِحًا مُّرْسَلٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِ قَالُواْ إِنَّا بِمَا أُرْسِلَ بِهِ مُؤْمِنُونَ

75.             Qala almalao allatheena istakbaroo min qawmihi lillatheena istudAAifoo liman amana minhum ataAAlamoona anna salihan mursalun min rabbihi qaloo inna bima orsila bihi muminoona
The leaders of his nation, who were arrogant, said to those people who brought Faith among the weak people: "Do you really know that Sâlih is a Rasool of his Râbb?"  They replied: "Without any doubt we believe in that message with which he has been sent."

قَالَ الَّذِينَ اسْتَكْبَرُواْ إِنَّا بِالَّذِيَ آمَنتُمْ بِهِ كَافِرُونَ

76.             Qala allatheena istakbaroo inna biallathee amantum bihi kafiroona
Those who claimed to be superior said: "The thing you have believed in we deny it."

فَعَقَرُواْ النَّاقَةَ وَعَتَوْاْ عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ وَقَالُواْ يَا صَالِحُ ائْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَا إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ

77.             FaAAaqaroo alnnaqata waAAataw AAan amri rabbihim waqaloo ya salihu itina bima taAAiduna in kunta mina almursaleena
Then they killed the she camel and with full boldness disobeyed the Commandment of their Râbb, and said to Sâlih: "Bring that suffering for which you have been threatening us if you really are from among the Rasools."

فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُواْ فِي دَارِهِمْ جَاثِمِينَ

78.             Faakhathathumu alrrajfatu faasbahoo fee darihim jathimeena
Consequently the trembling disaster seized them and they in their homes remained laying with their faces down (became lifeless bodies with their faces down).

فَتَوَلَّى عَنْهُمْ وَقَالَ يَا قَوْمِ لَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُمْ رِسَالَةَ رَبِّي وَنَصَحْتُ لَكُمْ وَلَكِن لاَّ تُحِبُّونَ النَّاصِحِينَ

79.             Fatawalla AAanhum waqala ya qawmi laqad ablaghtukum risalata rabbee wanasahtu lakum walakin la tuhibboona alnnasiheena
And Sâlih left their town saying: "O people of my nation, I conveyed the message of my Râbb to you and I did my best for you, but what should I do that you do not like your well-wishers."

وَلُوطًا إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ أَتَأْتُونَ الْفَاحِشَةَ مَا سَبَقَكُم بِهَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِّن الْعَالَمِينَ

80.             Walootan ith qala liqawmihi atatoona alfahishata ma sabaqakum biha min ahadin mina alAAalameena
And WE sent Lout as a Messenger, then remember when he said to his people: "Do you become such shameless and (you) do those shameless deeds which none before you has done in the world ('Alamîn)?

إِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ الرِّجَالَ شَهْوَةً مِّن دُونِ النِّسَاء بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ مُّسْرِفُونَ

81.             Innakum latatoona alrrijala shahwatan min dooni alnnisai bal antum qawmun musrifoona
You satisfy your lust with men (homosexual) instead of women.  The truth is that you are the most transgressing (in violation of the limits) people."

وَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِ إِلاَّ أَن قَالُواْ أَخْرِجُوهُم مِّن قَرْيَتِكُمْ إِنَّهُمْ أُنَاسٌ يَتَطَهَّرُونَ

82.             Wama kana jawaba qawmihi illa an qaloo akhrijoohum min qaryatikum innahum onasun yatatahharoona
But the reply of his people was nothing except this that: "Expel these people from your towns, they pose to be pious."

فَأَنجَيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ إِلاَّ امْرَأَتَهُ كَانَتْ مِنَ الْغَابِرِينَ

83.             Faanjaynahu waahlahu illa imraatahu kanat mina alghabireena
Finally WE saved Lout and his family except his wife -- she was among those who remained behind.

وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًا فَانظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُجْرِمِينَ

84.             Waamtarna AAalayhim mataran faonthur kayfa kana AAaqibatu almujrimeena
And on those people (WE) showered a rain, then see what was the end result of those criminals (Mujrimûn). (R) 17

وَإِلَى مَدْيَنَ أَخَاهُمْ شُعَيْبًا قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُواْ اللّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَـهٍ غَيْرُهُ قَدْ جَاءتْكُم بَيِّنَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ فَأَوْفُواْ الْكَيْلَ وَالْمِيزَانَ وَلاَ تَبْخَسُواْ النَّاسَ أَشْيَاءهُمْ وَلاَ تُفْسِدُواْ فِي الأَرْضِ بَعْدَ إِصْلاَحِهَا ذَلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

85.             Waila madyana akhahum shuAAayban qala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu qad jaatkum bayyinatun min rabbikum faawfoo alkayla waalmeezana wala tabkhasoo alnnasa ashyaahum wala tufsidoo fee alardi baAAda islahiha thalikum khayrun lakum in kuntum mumineena
And towards the people of Madyan (name of nation) WE sent their brother Shu'aib.  He said: "O people of my nation; worship Allâh you have no deity (Ilâh) except HIM.  A clear guidance of your Râbb has come to you, therefore give full measure and weight, and do not give loss to the people in their things, and do not make mischief on the earth while its reformation has been done, in it there is prosperity for you if you are really believers.

وَلاَ تَقْعُدُواْ بِكُلِّ صِرَاطٍ تُوعِدُونَ وَتَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللّهِ مَنْ آمَنَ بِهِ وَتَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا وَاذْكُرُواْ إِذْ كُنتُمْ قَلِيلاً فَكَثَّرَكُمْ وَانظُرُواْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُفْسِدِينَ

86.             Wala taqAAudoo bikulli siratin tooAAidoona watasuddoona AAan sabeeli Allahi man amana bihi watabghoonaha AAiwajan waothkuroo ith kuntum qaleelan fakaththarakum waonthuroo kayfa kana AAaqibatu almufsideena
And do not sit as a robber on every path (of life) to threaten the people who brought Faith and start hindering from the Path of Allâh and do not insist to deform the straight path.  Remember that time, when you were few in numbers then Allâh grew you in numbers, and see with open eyes that what is the end result of the mischief-makers (Mufsidûn).

وَإِن كَانَ طَآئِفَةٌ مِّنكُمْ آمَنُواْ بِالَّذِي أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِ وَطَآئِفَةٌ لَّمْ يْؤْمِنُواْ فَاصْبِرُواْ حَتَّى يَحْكُمَ اللّهُ بَيْنَنَا وَهُوَ خَيْرُ الْحَاكِمِينَ

87.             Wain kana taifatun minkum amanoo biallathee orsiltu bihi wataifatun lam yuminoo faisbiroo hatta yahkuma Allahu baynana wahuwa khayru alhakimeena
If one group among you brings Faith on the teachings with which I have been sent, and other does not bring Faith then see with patience till the time Allâh decides between us, and HE is the best of all the judges."
